I was really looking forward towards this event when I got the invitation to speak in this conference. But my first research, did made me feel skeptical towards the event; as their website did not appeal much.
But it all changed at the venue. Apart from the state-of-the-art organizing skills of the event and unexpected orderliness, I was left dumbstruck at the concern they pay to great ideologies and the persons behind those. Though I was left speechless, after the clarification given by the spokesperson of MSF for my remaining concerns; I did feel, I have to express my feelings of them on my blog.
Jasmine Revolution, as the western media likes to term it; asserts few facts of life that evolved during the last two decades. One; No strength is above the willingness of the youth to work for the country's cause.
The other is the new global ideology is in conjunction with Gandhiji's Ahimsa. These are the messages that all youth organizations should learn from this. As a by-product one can also add the relevance of social networking websites as new form of media; which is very much effective.
A serious concern for me as a Social worker, is the social empowerment of women. Our political scenario, (50% reservations for females in local bodies), enforces our women to have strong political views and the lack of it, would directly affect the future of our nation. Such a political view can only be developed during their educational days. Hats off to the organizers, who ensured female participation in this event where celebrities like APJ AbdulKalam, shared their wisdom.
Finally, a word to MSF and its members. The world is a in a new conjuncture. The prejudice against Muslims as Terrorists is being slowly wiped out with the present non-violent freedom struggles of Tunisia and Egypt and the participation of Islamic Brotherhood in this Jasmine Revolution. You should be vigilant and committed in bringing back some of our brother who have stepped into the wrong courts of divisive forces and terrorism. If you are able to do that no one can hold India back from owning this century
